La RIAA ti ha scoperto? No, è solo Sober.C

No, non sei stato beccato dalla RIAA. Tranquillo. Se non bastassero le minacce reali pendenti sul P2P, ora anche un virus sembra voler impaurire chi scambia musica tramite i canali di file-sharing. In verità la minaccia è attiva ormai da settimane, ma una non esasperata informazione al riguardo ha creato qualche apprensione immotivata. Tanto per far chiarezza, ecco di cosa si sta parlando:

“Ladies and Gentlemen,
Downloading of Movies, MP3s and Software is illegal and punishable by law.
We hereby inform you that your computer was scanned under the IP *.*.*.* . The contents of your computer were confiscated as an evidence, and you will be indicated. You get the charge in writing, in the next days. In the Reference code: #48908, are all files, that we found on your computer.
The sender address of this mail was masked, to protect us against mail bombs.

Chi riceve tale mail non deve preoccuparsi dell’FBI, ma piuttosto di Sober.C, un virus che danneggia e si propaga facendo leva sui timori legati alla semi-clandestinità dello status di utente peer-to-peer. Le soluzioni al problema sono le solite: un antivirus aggiornato, il divieto assoluto di aprire l’allegato alla mail ed un continuo aggiornamento circa i nuovi stratagemmi escogitati dai malintenzionati.
